Winsome Wishes for KIDS 2nd Annual Education Conference Inspires Educators Across Jamaica Kingston, Jamaica | October 1–3, 2025
Winsome Wishes for Kids (WWKIDS) proudly hosted its 2nd Annual Education Conference at the S Hotel, welcoming nearly 200 educators, parents, and stakeholders from 25 schools across Jamaica, along with Ministry of Education representatives, teacher college staff, retired educators, and tutors.
Over three dynamic days, participants explored evidence-based strategies in literacy, executive function, social-emotional learning, and culturally relevant teaching—led by experts from Jamaica and abroad.
Conference Highlights
Day 1: Sessions on the Science of Reading, Early Literacy, and Shared Book Reading received 93–97% positive ratings.
Day 2: Workshops on Executive Functioning, Neurodivergent Learners, and Social-Emotional Learning boosted educator confidence, scoring 3.0–3.33 out of 4.
- Day 3: Sessions on Translating Research into Practice, Coaching Strategies, and Culturally Relevant Literacy inspired immediate classroom application, with ratings of 3.44–3.67 out of 4.
Educators left with practical tools and renewed purpose to strengthen literacy and learning outcomes. As Ms. Grant, Grade 4 Coordinator at May Pen Primary, shared:
“The teachers appreciated the depth of information, engaging sessions, and the chance to reflect and unlearn certain practices. The conference was highly reflective and pivotal for educators working with children with learning difficulties.”
